1. Christmas Markets in Lisbon

This Christmas, Lisbon hosts once again several Christmas Markets all around the city. One of the most popular markets is Sao Pedro de Alcantara. It’s a cute market which offers a lot of Christmas things.

There is another one in Campo Pequeno, a former bullfight arena turned into concert and event house. Here, you’ll be able to shop your way into Christmas spirit and discover the traditional pastries and to get souvenirs back home.

2. Food, Oh Glorious Christmas Food...

If you’re in Lisbon for Christmas, you must, yes, you must try “bolo-rei”. Bolo-rei (“king-cake” in English) is one of the traditional Christmas desserts in Lisbon While you are in Lisbon, make sure to also indulge on some Leite Creme. Leite creme is a little similar to the French crême brulée. The main difference is that Leite creme is boiled while the crême brulée goes to the oven. Try and then decide which one you prefer!

3. Admire the Christmas lights in Lisbon

Streets in Lisbon are some of my favourite in the whole world. I love its cobbled, steep, narrow streets. But decorated with Christmas lights I guess, Lisbon's streets are magical.

If you wish to see the very best, head to Praça de Commercio and follow the main street to Rossio. Walk around Baixa Chiado, Bairro Alto and don’t forget Avenida de Liberdade!

4. Wonderland Lisboa

Wonderland Lisboa is the Portuguese version of Winter Wonderland in London. A fantastic Christmas fun fair and market hosted every year in the city. Gather your friends, family and colleagues and head to Parque Eduardo VII. Everyone will enjoy the ice rink, carousel, ice ramp, Christmas tree and giant snow globe. You can also pick up last minute Christmas gifts from local artisans and artists. Oh! And make sure to stop at the various food stalls to enjoy the season's food and drink.

5. Explore Lisbon at Christmas

If you’re in Lisbon for the first time, you can leave the city without visiting some of the best areas of Lisbon. Make sure to visit Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodre. Grab some castanhas (roasted chestnuts) while  you walk around the city and remember to take it all in! If you need some inspirations, make sure to read our guide to Lisbon.

Finally we got to visit lisbon! I took my Sony Alpha 6500 with a 50mm to get this shots. The old Carros eléctricos are awesome to photograph because of their vintage wooden look. Also steep hills give a lot of deepness.
