To the right of Les Rambles you'll find the Barri Gotic, the city's historical nucleus. From Barcino, the Roman name for the city, you'll still find many remains: part of the walls, temple columns, tombs...you can visit many of these in the Museu de l'Historia de la Ciutat in the Plaça de Rei, a plaza you must visit. Much has change since the perfect Roman squared urban planning, up until today's chaotic streets and alleyways that have remained intact since the 19th Century. Even movies set in medieval times have taken advantages of the Barri Gotic's aesthetics to film sequences.
