Sarria-Sant Gervasi is known as the “high zone” of Barcelona, not only for its location at the foot of the Collserola Mountains known for Tibidabo watching over the city, but also for being one of the most expensive, affluent areas in all of Spain.
Absorbed by the city of Barcelona in 1920, it was one of the zones most frequented by the Catalan bourgeoisie at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries when they would leave their homes in L'Eixample to spend the weekends relaxing among the area's nature.
It's for this reason the area has numerous parks and gardens with impressive single-family homes belonging to rich businessmen that still leave us enchanted.
They also say that in this area you can enjoy the best bakeries in Barcelona like Foix. Other easily recognized locales include Bar Tomás where you'll have to try the spectacular Patatas Bravas or Vell Sarria to eat the best rice dishes.
You will be living with workers in their 50s, but the rooms are occasionally rented to students.
