Neighborhood information

Crumlin, Drimnagh and Walkinstown

Crumlin was named after the crooked valley of Lansdowne Valley which is mostly used as a recreational land, this suburb is a home to many sports teams as well as bus routes that can take you into the city centre. Crumlin is also a home to one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country - Our Lady’s Children's Hospital. Drimnagh is a small, friendly suburb which can be found between Drimnagh and Crumlin. It’s a home to the large Brickfields Park and bus routes, which can take you into the city centre in 35 minutes.

Unlike many neighborhoods in Dublin, Walkinstown is a large, modern suburb, created in 20th century. It features everything you need for a comfortable life in Dublin, including plenty of schools, a public library and a large park, run by the city council. The area also features Drimnagh Castle, one of the oldest castles in Ireland, dating back to 1216.

What we liked the most

  • From the house it is easy to get to bus routes that can take you across Dublin.
  • We have never seen a house with so much fridge space!
  • The 2 bathrooms for 5 bedrooms should keep morning fights for the shower to a minimum.
  • Even in a modern area, it's such a short walk to a piece of ancient history (Drimnagh Castle).

Things to keep in mind

  • These rooms are available to rent for men only.
