Neighborhood information

Fourvière Hill: Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site and also known as “the hill that prays”, this area hosts plenty of churches and religious institutions, along with residence houses. It is a perfect choice for those who wish to feel like they are at the top of the world as it features some of the most breathtaking and romantic views of the entire city. Rich in history, this area, once a home to Roman settlements, is now one of the most popular residential and tourist areas in Lyon. You will also find plenty of museums here, along with the Fourvière basilica - one of most famous churches in Lyon and a spectacular sight to see during the night. The district is also a home to Sainte-Marie Lyon high school, making it a perfect choice for families and those who prefer to live close to the city centre, which is just a 30 minute walk away - although keep in mind that walking up this hill might be quite a challenge for the faint hearted.
