Neighborhood information

Salamanca

In a few words: chic and upscale

Overview
Chic. Posh. Upscale. Salamanca is Madrid’s high-class neighbourhood. World-class restaurants, chic cafes and expensive boutiques – Salamanca is high-class living.

Several members of the Spanish royal family also live here. No wonder Salamanca is known as the “Upper East Side” of Madrid. If you want a 1st-class experience, Salamanca is for you.

What can I do here?
Try Ramón Freixa Madrid. It’s a Michelin-rated restaurant. Spend rivers of cash (or go window shopping) at the boutiques on the Paseo de la Castellana. Meet friends in a chic cafe. Mmm, the bitter aroma of fresh, ground coffee.

Portal fact
In Salamanca, you will see lots of elegant wooden doors made in the 19th century. Refined.

Can I afford it? €€€ (expensive)

Things to keep in mind

  • The apartment faces the interior, but it isn’t dark. It has plenty of windows, light wooden floors and warm colours.
  • There is no TV or oven.
