Your classic Madrid hangout
Are you looking for the real Castilian Madrid?
Then Carabanchel is for you.
It’s Madrid’s historic heart. It’s famous for wild San Isidro celebrations. It’s the home of Madrid’s iconic chulapo style of dress.
Restaurants, bars, sports, entertainment and shopping – you have lots to see and do here.
Spanish traditions call, call you to Carabanchel.
What can I do here?
Join the party like a true chulapo or chulapa at the San Isidro festival in May. You can pick from 50 free live concerts and party late till the morning light. (Did we mention the concerts are free?)
The Islazul shopping centre has good ... shopping.
Watch a show at Palacio Vistalegre. It hosts bands like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Supertramp. You have to pay for that though, sorry.
Carabanchel is the subject of many paintings by Francisco de Goya. La Pradera de San Isidro, in the Prado, is one of the best. Picturesque.
