With one of the highest concentrations of tapas bars in Madrid (and with a slightly more elevated clientele than in Malasaña), La Latina is a festive neighborhood both day and night. While relaxed during the day, it’s definitely full of action at night. Sunday mornings will find you at the center of El Rastro, the city’s world-famous flea market, where everything from antiques to cheap home appliances are sold against a backdrop of locals enjoying cañas--or beer-- and glasses of vermouth.
