Description

If you want a cozy and affordable home in Madrid, the rooms for rent in this 3-bedroom apartment on Pasaje de San Martín, near Calle de Quintiliano, definitely fit the bill. Walking into the apartment is a vestibule with doors leading to different areas of the space, including the full shared bathroom and kitchen down a corridor. The kitchen, which has a small window, is equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine. Back in the entrance hall, another door leads to the spacious common dining and living area with sofas, a TV, a 4-seat table and a lovely little balcony with a table and chair.

Prosperidad is a quiet residential area, but from this neighborhood you can get to anywhere in the city, or Spain for that matter, because the Avenida de America metro and bus station is 6 minutes away. Whatever your daily needs, you’ll find it within a 10-minute walk from your door. There is a supermarket, a butcher and a bakery nearby. You’ll also find a gym, and there are bars and restaurants all around. There is even a karaoke bar just down the street! Neighborhood information

Prosperidad
Your well-connected and residential home

Overview
It’s called “La Prospe” by locals.

It’s home to Avenida de América metro-and-bus station. You can travel all over Madrid and Spain from here.

Are good transport connections important to you?

Then Prosperidad is for you.

What can I do here?
Go to Calle López de Hoyos, one of Madrid’s longest roads. There’s a top-rated eco-store called Supermercado Ecológico El Vergel here.

Dress your best and go to the Auditorio Nacional de Música. It’s a classical music venue. Prices start at 10 euros. The acoustics are as finely tuned as the violins.

Go anywhere you want. After all, Avenida de América station is here. You can take a bus to anywhere in Spain. We recommend Barcelona or León.

Or you could visit one of Madrid’s historic villages instead. Alcalá de Henares is the birthplace of Cervantes. It's only 45 minutes by bus. Jolly nice it is too.

Agricultural fact
In the 19th century, Prosperidad was a small farming community on the edge of Madrid. Now it’s a major urban hotspot. Progressive.

Can I afford it?
€–€€ (budget friendly–mid-range)

Flatmates

The landlady lives in the property. She's a 30-year-old student who loves to travel, workout and cook. If you want to have visits once in a while, it's fine. No parties, though.

What we liked the most

  • The rooms are spacious, but it’s really great to have a common living and dining area, as well as a little balcony.
  • There is a mall in the area, but plenty of little shops and supermarkets within walking distance.
  • This is a quiet residential area, so you know that it’s going to be a stress-free lifestyle away from the city center and the tourist hotspots.
  • You’ll find cafés, bakeries and restaurants just down the street.
