You'd best get down to Malasaña then.

It's got cool bars and it's dead central. Eclectic bistros, organic-food cafés, and vintage-gear boutiques are everywhere.

Malasaña is base camp for young adults in Madrid. It's a party, and you're invited.

What can I do here?

Get your party started at two of Madrid's best bars, Tupperware and Madrid Me Mata. One loves indie music, the other's a shrine to the 1980s cultural Movida.

If that sounds noisy, try Fábrica Maravillas or Irreale, two quality craft-beer bars.

Microteatro por Dinero is a tiny theatre in a basement. It's only 4 euros, and you're part of the show. There's a bar too. Naughty.

Conde Duque is a huge cultural space in an old guardhouse. You can enjoy an outdoor cinema, a DJ, and food and drink. It's a very chill, very comfortable place.
