Neighborhood information

This apartment is located in Chamberí, a neighborhood where the traditional (Madrileño) way of life still exists. Chamberí has lots of local markets and only the typical tapas restaurants where all Madrileños enjoy to gather. While it’s not as hip or as fancy as Malasaña, Chamberí is another quintessential castizo neighborhood like that of La Latina. It’s a great choice if you are looking to have the most authentic Madrileño way of life. Chamberí is in close proximity not only to the city’s center, but also to Ciudad Universitaria through the extensive Metro and bus network. Fun Fact: Calle Almagro in Chamberí is one of the ten most expensive streets in Spain and óvar's 1988 film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

What we liked the most

  • The house has sme charming communal areas. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and the kitchen is quirky and fun, having been kept in its 60's decor. It is also comes fully equipped.
  • The exterior rooms in particular will make a great place to live, being spacious and very bright, due to the large windows overlooking the street.
  • While this flat has no metro stop directly on it's doorstep, if you are willing to walk 10 minutes this flat has access to no less than 5 metro lines, making it extremely well connected to most parts of the city. Chamberi is also a great neighbourhood to live in that its more peaceful than the centre, but still has plenty of character itself. And of course the centre is only a short walk away!

Things to keep in mind

  • The interior rooms should expect to receive less natural night than the exterior rooms.
  • Some of the decor and furnishings are a bit retro, but the flat is spacious and comfortable.
