Neighborhood information

Salamanca:

As Madrid’s affluent neighborhood, you’ll find a New York-style grid of roads and the “Milla de Oro”, comprised of Calle Serrano, Velázquez, and Ortega y Gasset, which are three of the most expensive streets in all of Spain. But not everything is designer: many of the other side streets have unique boutiques and hip restaurants. With a 19th century bourgeoisie feel, you’ll have great shopping options, Retiro at the end of Calle Serrano at the Puerta de Alcalá, and the IE Business School campus all within walking distance.

What we liked the most

  • Great kitchen, fitted out with every appliance a person needs. Includes electric oven and cooker, microwave, washing machine, toaster and dishwasher.
  • Large, comfortable living room, with balcony leading to the back of the building, which is very quiet and peaceful.
  • Two bathrooms so no waiting in the morning for your turn.
  • The apartment is cleaned twice a week so will always be kept in a great state.

Things to keep in mind

  • Apart from Room 5, the rooms lead to an interior light well, which while being very quiet does give less light than an exterior room.
  • This flat has central heating so will be nice and warm in winter, but does not have AC for the summer.
