Spotahome's opinion

This is a glorious loft apartment in one of Madrid's northern districts - Fuencarral.

You may imagine a crummy tight space, but not so. This studio is designed over 2 levels and has a fully integrated living room, dining area and a sleeping area with an en-suite bathroom.

On the lower level, toilet room, a stylish kitchen with oven and stove, a dining table and chairs, and a desk. Then, through to the living area, with a sunny, private balcony. And because this is a loft, there is loads of natural sunlight (top of the building, you see). The living area also has a big double sofa (which can fold out into bed) and a flatscreen TV, plus a pretty funky bookcase.

Up to the mezzanine level, and there is a covered sleeping area with a floor-length blind (to keep out all the natural sunlight), a huge built-in wardrobe, and then through to the bathroom, with a glass shower cubicle, sink, toilet and storage.

What we liked the most

  • This is a stunning flat. Simple as.
  • High ceilings give lots of breathing room and sense of spaciousness.
  • The mezzanine adds 2 rooms to the apartment.
  • Lots of natural light means waking up in a good mood in the mornings.
  • Our home-checker Javi loved the property - we can see why.
