Overview

The pretty patch by the Palace

Because I want something stylish and super central.

Will I like it here?

It would be hard not to.

Are you looking to soak up Madrid's lively historic heart? You'll be in the shadow of the Palace here. It's the historic home of Kings and Queens.

Really? Tell me more...

You will love the location. Stroll in the palace gardens, shop till you drop, eat, drink and be merry. You can live like a King (or Queen) here.

We think it’s ideal for a stylish couple. Open-plan living, beautiful furnishings, and a sunny bay window with table and chairs. The location and the look.

Your top 3 reasons to live here:

  • The beautiful open-plan kitchen and living.
  • That sunny spot by the window. It's almost a balcony.
  • The location, of course. Teatro Real for a sophisticated night out.

But you need to know this...

  • There is a washing machine but no dryer – no probs, just grab yourself a rack.

Give it to me straight…

This is a stylish 1st floor, studio apartment on Calle De La Cruzada, Madrid. It offers a beautiful open-plan kitchen and living area, stylish furnishings, and a sunny bay window.

We think this apartment is perfect for a professional couple. Locations don't get more central, and there is history around every corner.

Madrid's historic heart

Overview

Living here you have it all:

  • Shops, bars and architecture on Gran Vía.
  • Tapas at the Mercado de San Miguel.
  • The opulent Royal Palace.
  • Romantic walks in the Sabatini gardens.
  • Brad Pitt opening his latest movie at Cine Callao.
  • Students, tourists, protesters, dancers, and partygoers at the Puerta del Sol plaza.

That's the short version.

The only thing missing is you.

What can I do here?

Visit the El Corte Inglés Gourmet Experience to view Madrid from above. It's on the 9th floor of a very flat city.

Meet your friends by the fountain in Puerta del Sol. On New Year's Eve, people from all over Spain gather here to eat grapes. They eat 12 in total, one for each chime of the midnight bell. It's harder than it sounds.

Be a tourist:

  • Get your clothes and coffee on Gran Vía.
  • Take a photo of the iconic Plaza de Cibeles.
  • Tour the Royal Palace.
  • Go to genteel Plaza Mayor.
  • Be kind to your stomach and go Mercado de San Miguel. Fresh lobster and Albariño wine…

Enjoy good food at good prices at Taverna del Norte.

You can find it on Calle Mesonero Romanos. It serves traditional Spanish cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and low-key. The value for money is superb.

Origin fact

The centre of Madrid is the capital's oldest area. It was founded in the late 800s by the Emir of Córdoba, Muhammad I. Groundbreaking.
