Chamartín

Commuter heaven

Overview

Chamartín is one of Madrid's most important financial hubs.

The skyline is dominated the Gate of Europe: two 115-metre-tall towers. They lean into each other at a 15° angle. It seems they should collapse, but they don't.

From Chamartín railway station, you can cross all of Madrid and Spain.

If living close to your place of work is important, try Chamartín.

What can I do here?

Join the local fans at a Real Madrid match.

They play in the immense Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Its steep, vertiginous stands cram in 81,044 people. The atmosphere on matchdays is claustrophobic and raucous.

Take a walk through one of the many small parks. Admire the famous Four Towers of Madrid. The metro gets you to the city centre.

Madrid is ringed by mountains. What's on the other side? Take a high-speed train from Chamartín station and find out. You can get to towns all over Spain faster t...

Transport fact

Chamartín is exactly 9.7 kilometres from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. Convenient.
