Neighborhood information

Italy and its major cities are very well known for their unique architecture, a clear example of this being the historic center of Milan. Right in the heart of the city, visitors can find the marvelous Piazza del Duomo along with one of the largest churches in the world, the Gothic Cathedral the Duomo. The Historic Center of Milan is a busy district and is suitable for those who like to be in the center of the action and history. It's worth mentioning that Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper (painting) is in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which is located in this neighborhood! By far, this is a great location for those attending or visiting the Universitá degli studi di milano. Also found in this neighborhood is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is right next to the Piazza del Duomo, and to its north, an area filled with stores, bars and restaurants, often referred to as the Galleria. The commercial center is considered one of the world’s most elegant shopping malls! Last but not least, the Historic Center is well connected via its Tramway making the rest of Milan easily accessible. (It connects Piazza del Duomo with Piazza della Scala, where we find La Scala Opera House.)
