Bovisa is the home to the Bovisa Campus of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Home to their schools of design, architecture and industrial engineering, the area is experiencing a lot of changes: its recent transformation into a university district has converted this district into an up-and-coming art and design hub.
Bovisa is characterised by abandoned or restructured industrial and factory buildings, one of which houses the architecture faculty of the Polytechnic University.
