As a fun international startup, we’re always happy to participate in important events that raise awareness on a subject we’re extremely passionate about. This is our second year in participating in Movember and we’re more than proud of results we achieved and money we raised.

This year, Spotahome managed to raise more than €2000 for the Movember Foundation.

We believe in great causes, we believe in teamwork and most importantly, we believe that everyone has the right to be healthy and feel healthy. So during the month of November, our Spotahome men grew moustaches to raise awareness for men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s suicide.

Why moustaches?

Because ever since 2004, men have been growing moustaches for charity during the month of November. It all started in Melbourne, Victoria, when a group of men decided they will grow their moustaches for 30 days in order to raise awareness for men’s health.

The group is now known as the Movember Foundation and its presence has grown globally across the world. In 2012, 1.1 million people participated, raising $95 million for men’s health charities. The event also includes Moscars awards and the title of International Man of Movember.

Here’s just a few highlights from this year’s Spotahome Movember campaign:

It all started with a few posters – our design team really showed off their skills.

And once the office events began, there was no way of stopping them.

From selling homemade baked cookies by a Product team member, tortilla breakfast from our HR team, sandwiches and Batman by UserAC, selling bracelets and after work mercadillo solidario to… our coffee addicted cofounder Bryan who decided to QUIT COFFEE FOR A MONTH. Think he did it? Check out his struggles in our videos –video 1, video 2, video 3.
