Spotahome's opinion

This wonderful studio apartment to rent isn’t large, but it has a bright and airy feel to it. You’ll enter into a hallway first, from where you can access the cozy bathroom with white tiles and a bathtub. A second door leads you into the quaint space of the studio. There are parquet floors and a bed in the left corner that can be hidden behind a curtain. The living area has large windows and is furnished with a sofa bed, a 4-seater table, a shelving unit and a TV on a small stand. The kitchen is tucked away, but still part of this space. It is set apart by a bar counter with two stools and fully equipped, with a gas stove, microwave oven, and washer.

Ixelles is located in the suburbs, but it has a history dating back to the 13th century. It also happens to be home to both French and Dutch-language Free Universities of Brussels, which are a 20-minute tram or bus ride away. There are a few popular sights nearby, including the Ixelles Museum, which showcases European artwork. It’s a 10-minute walk away. The European Parliament is also only 18 minutes away on foot. In terms of restaurants, you’ll find hamburgers, sushi, Asian and French cuisine just around the corner, as well as a tennis club and a small community theater.

What we liked the most

  • The apartment isn’t huge, but it’s cute—and the large windows really open up the space.
  • Despite being located in the suburbs, the neighborhood has a good selection of art galleries, museums, and there is even a small theater nearby.
  • Within a 10-minute walk, you’ll come across lots of different restaurants and a variety of different cuisines.
  • There are two universities in the area, and both can be reached within reasonable time by public transportation.
