Neighborhood information

Malasaña is both traditional and alternative. If you enjoy being out and going for drinks, this is the neighborhood for you. By day, the barrio is rather quiet with lots of charming boutiques and restaurants, while at night it transforms into a nightlife hub with an impressive amount of bars and music venues. The style of the neighborhood is defined by traditional 19th century buildings with painted facades, with the Plaza del 2 de Mayo at its core. The Movida Madrileña in the 1980’s thrived here and the creative spirit lives on with Malasaña being home to many of the city’s up-and-coming new businesses along streets such as Corredera de San Pablo and Calle Pez.

What we liked the most

  • In the living area you will find a TV, a dining table with four chairs and a sofa which you can open up to create a double bed.
  • There is one fully equipped shared bathroom, and bedroom 2 has an ensuite bathroom equipped with a shower and a sink only. (no toilet).
  • Wi-Fi and other utilities are already installed in the apartment and included in the monthly rent, saving you the hassle of getting these organised when you arrive to Madrid.
  • There is a hot and cold air-conditioning unit in the living area.

Things to keep in mind

  • The kitchen is quiet small, but will still provide you with a functional space to preparare your meals. There is only a small fridge.
  • Bedroom 1 doesn't have a wardrobe, but there is a standalone clothes-rack you can use to hang your clothing.
