Spotahome's opinion

The beauty on a budget

Because I want the most bang for my buck

Will I like it here?

That depends.

Are you looking for an affordable option in one of Madrid's most exclusive neighborhoods?

Do you want to live with the local landlady who can tell you all about the area?

This cool apartment might just be up your alley.

Really? Tell me more...

You will love the living room. It's spacious and beautifully decorated – there's even a chandelier. An absolute showstopper.

We think it’s ideal for professionals. Enjoy all the perks of living in a central location without paying a million bucks.

Your top 3 reasons to live here:

  • The living room is lovely.
  • The classy decor. That chandelier, though.
  • The gorgeous El Retiro park is just a 15-minute walk away.

But you need to know this...

  • There's no AC – time to invest in a fan?

Our Homechecker, Elena, said:

“I loved this property. It’s a beautiful apartment in a great location, with shops, restaurants, and bars nearby”.

Give it to me straight…

This is a nice 2nd floor, 2-bedroom apartment on Calle De La Povedilla, Madrid. It has a cosy living room, lovely decor, and it's close to one of the biggest parks in town.

We think this apartment is perfect for a professional female. Experience Madrid's chic side and get in touch with your inner fashionista. Smoker? You can puff away here.

What we liked the most

  • Lounging in the living room – that's how we roll.
  • Soaking up the decor – a true class act.
  • Walking to El Retiro park – it's picnic time.
  • This is right by the Wizink Center

Things to keep in mind

  • You'll be sharing the apartment with the live-in landlady.
  • The laptops and printer in the pictures belong to the landlady.
  • There's a washing machine but no dryer – no problem, just set up a drying rack and you're good to go.
  • A television can be provided for the bedroom.
  • Important: the wardrobe in your bedroom only has a tiny amount of space available (1 compartment out of 3). The rest of it is already taken.

Flatmates

Moving into a new city is always hard, unless you know a local who can give you the lay of the land. Enter your flatmate: a talkative and friendly lady in her 60s. She speaks Spanish and French - and although she doesn't speak English, she has a son who does who will be able to help if you need. (The landlady's son does not live on the property.)
