Spotahome's opinion
This wonderful 1-bedroom apartment to rent on Rue de la Digue is charming and bright. There is a sofa, along with some decorations, as well as a 4-seat dining table. With 2 large windows you get a flood of natural light flowing into the space. The kitchen has a breakfast bar with stools, gas stove, fridge, microwave oven and ample cupboard space. The bathroom, which is next to your cozy bedroom, is modern with black and white tiling and a shower stall. You have access to a separate, communal laundry room which has a washing machine and a dryer.
Ixelles is a fairly large urban space in the suburb. It’s home to the Free University of Brussels, which is a 14-minute tram ride. Vrije University isn’t too far, either. The Ixelles Museum isn’t too far from your door, and the Lumen Theater is only 2 minutes away. With a walk around your block, you’ll find a yoga center, a couple of bars and a few restaurants. With a 1-minute walk around the corner, you’ll find a pharmacy, as well as a small supermarket. The area is well-connected and you can get to downtown Brussels by bus in roughly 25 minutes.
What we liked the most
- The apartment is very cute and the big windows are fabulous.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, plates, utensils, pots and pans.
- The neighborhood seems far, but it doesn’t actually take too long to get downtown.
- You’re fairly close to a couple of universities.
- There are a few supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance.

- Place Eugène Flagey is just outside your door and it is well served by multiple bus and tram lines, including tram 81, which can quickly connect you to the metro and train networks.
- The closest metro station, Naamsepoort/Porte de Namur, is a 20-minute walk or 15-minute bus ride away and it is served by lines 2 and 6.
- Zuidstation/Gare du Midi, the largest train station in Brussels, can be reached with a simple 28-minute tram ride.
- Germoir, the new train station is just 500 meters away. This station has a direct connection to the Luxembourg and Schuman stations.
