Living in Brussels’ least populated municipality can be a good thing...
Brussels is permanently buzzing – it’s the capital of the European Union, after all. Koekelberg is a much deserved break from all the commotion. Even though the basilica is the main attraction, there’s lots to do around here, especially if you like outdoor bars.
Places to visit: take a stroll in Parc Elisabeth and check out Bar Eliza – a shipping container converted into a outdoor restaurant, fairy lights included.
Things to do: watch a comedy show at Koek’s Theatre; try to get some free samples of chocolate at the Belgian Chocolate Village Museum.
Transport links: Simonis is the most centrally-located Metro in Koekelberg.
