Tallaght, located in the south-west of Dublin, is a quiet area with a village-like atmosphere and good public transport connections to the rest of the city, including an over ground tram station as well as several bus routes. It is a more affordable and peaceful alternative to living in the city-centre but is only 20 minutes away if you miss the buzz of Dublin.
