Paris’s 6th arrondissement, is situated on the left back of the river Seine. This neighbourhood forms the Latin Quarter together with the city’s 5th arrondissement. The 6th arrondissement is the site of the 23 hectare Luxembourg Gardens, which are set in front of the breathtaking Luxembourg Palace and attract more than 4 million visitors per year. Also known as Paris’s literary heart, this area has inspired writers and artists across centuries and Parisians enjoy soaking up the atmosphere during rendez-vous in local cafés. The 6th arrondissement is known as a vibrant and lively area, mainly due to its proximity to several universities and educational institutions. Fun fact: The 6th arrondissement is home to the picturesque Saint-Sulpice, a church that you may recognise from Ron Howard’s ‘Da Vinci Code.’ Somewhat controversially, the Archdiocese of Paris denied access to the inside of the building during filming, so the interior of the church was digitally re-created in the studio!
