El Pla del Real
Because history should be experienced, not revised.

You’ll love this...
Museum of fine art, Plaça del Xúquer, Ciutat Universitària, and Mestalla stadium...

Which means historical buildings, nightlife, universities, and football stadiums...

Yep. This place has it all. It’s a real jack of all trades, master of ALL. Whatever you expect, El Pla de Real won’t let you down.

But you won’t love this...
Living near the Mestalla Stadium, with its 50,000-person capacity, means you’ll encounter hordes of football fans during the season.

Can’t beat them? Join them. Ticket prices are reasonable.

Will I like living here?...
El Pla del Real strikes a winning balance between charming residential barrio and spirited student hangout.

Students flock to the Plazas to enjoy buenísimas Spanish tapas and cervezas – you can’t beat them, so you’d better go join them.

And if you’re bored...
Mestalla Stadium tour: Explore the home ground of Valencia Club de Fútbol Google rating: 4/5 And this Google review nails it: “ Football fan? Visiting Valencia? You've got to do the stadium tour!” – Is grass really that interesting? (No, not that kind.)

Anything else?
Here in March? Head to the Fallas festival.

This is a pyromaniac’s fantasy. Fires blaze as locals incinerate elaborate sculptures (that took over a year to make). The scattered ashes represent the changing of the season.

So they make the sculptures, only to burn them. Is it worth the time and effort? Yes. Just remember to bring some marshmallows to roast.

And did you know?…
Puente Real is a bridge with a rather toppling history. Back in the 16th century, it was built from wood. Which was fine...

Until the day King Charles I of Spain came to town. Thousands of Valencians crammed onto the bridge to see him…

The bridge collapsed.

A lot of people went home wet that day. We just hope the King was, like, a total hottie, and it was all worth the soggy socks.

Alas, today the bridge is cast in stone. No more wet trousers if the king stops by.

Getting to and from the airport... The Aero-Bus runs every 20 minutes from 6am–10pm. It takes 30 minutes and costs around €2.50.
