Sempione
The outer, inner shell.

Overview
In darts, the bullseye is the hardest spot to hit. The small ring outside it is the second hardest spot to hit.

In Milan, the bullseye is Centro. The outer ring is Sempione. And it’s something special.

This is a stunning, historical and trendy neighbourhood, and though it isn’t in the dead centre of Milan, you’re as close as you can get without being there!

Sempione is built almost wholly around Parco Sempione - that’s where it gets its name from. It’s so beautiful and perfect, that Milan’s city council gives people free wi-fi there just so they can stay a little longer!

In summer you will find friends and families sipping drinks and enjoying the views.

But when the sun goes down, the nightclubs come out. Designer labels and delicious cocktails lie in wait along the famous Corso Sempione.

So grab a dart, take aim and let fly. If you’re lucky, you’ll end up in Sempione.

What can I do here?
The undoubted highlight of this district is Parco Sempione.

It isn’t just a beautiful park - check out the aquarium and the sports stadium while you’re around.

And don’t get us started on Castello Sforzesco, an ancient military fortress that reaches back to the 1300’s! Basically, our tip is to revisit Parco Sempione as often as you can.

The second attraction with the name Sempione is Corso Sempione, a popular shopping and drinking street - but don’t worry, the alcohol doesn’t come out until night time.

And if you’re wondering what you buy on Corso Sempione, the answer is “just about anything”. We found shops that sell kitchens, running shoes, pasta and cakes (that wasn’t all in one shop, by the way).

But if you want something a little different, Sempione is on the borders of Milan’s Chinatown. Food and culture await, so bring some chopsticks.

And to top it off, the stunning Arco della Pace - Milan’s answer to the Arc de Triomphe. It’s 25m tall, so you can’t miss it.

Fun fact
Parco Sempione was designed to provide great views of the Arco della Pace and Castello Sforzesco. We told you it was awesome!
