Vigentino
High rises and crop fields

Overview
Vigentino sits 7km south of Milan, combining a rural past with an urban present.

High rise apartment blocks dominate the urban town centre, while the surrounding area has crop fields and other farm land.

The area is a commuter district for workers travelling into Milan city centre, with easy routes available.

Many residents come here for a quiet life, but there is access to party areas like Navigli close by if you want to find the liveliest bars and restaurants in Milan.

Bocconi University is very near, so the student population adds a youthful vibe to the area.

Fresh air is also a big part of enjoying Milan’s suburbs. The area has football pitches, parks and a handful of local monuments.

And because Vigentino is a relatively small suburb, it helps that everything is within bus or tram distance, too.

What can I do here?
Vigentino isn’t a party town, but isn’t without its points of interest!

Via Ripamonti is Vigentino’s main street. It’s where you’ll spend your weekends. Find all your food, clothes and bars there.

Art lovers will be delighted. Fondazione Prada is a serious art museum, 15 minutes away by public transport. Classy.

More of a theatre buff? Vigentino has its own theatre. Take in a play!

We hope you’re a fan of courtyards. That’s right, courtyards. Because Vigentino has one of Italy’s most important courtyards. Cortili di Via Matera is the name to look out for!

Spread your wings. Head to Navigli and Duomo in the evenings to share the nightlife with the rest of the movers and shakers. Party.

Everyone eats, right? Go to Shambala for some Far Eastern delights. It’s colourful, authentic and delicious. The terrace is the best place to dine, with trees casting a cool shade, Buddhist statues, and a koi carp pond. Serene.

Or, if you want to eat and enjoy some live music, try La Salumeria Della Musica!

Fun fact
When Italy was unified in the 1860s, the population of Vigentino was just 797. Lonely.
