Stadera
Navigli’s nosey neighbour

Overview
Stadera is a nifty little neighbourhood, just south of Navigli. Unfortunately, it has a nasty past.

In the 1920s, Italy’s fascist regime began building houses in Stadera for its followers. Stadera had a bad reputation, but after Italy’s defeat in World War II, things started to improve.

Today, life is vibrant and diverse. Stadera is popular with those who want to be near Navigli. And with Navigli’s party reputation, you can’t blame them!

The residents here are a mix of partygoers and bookworms.

And if you’re worried about missing out on the canal, it runs through the middle of the town. But it is not a landmark like Navigli, so you will need to go there for the best bars. Don’t worry, it’s close by!

Milan isn’t far away either. The Centro District is also just 30 minutes away!

What can I do here?
The neighbourhood market and a weekly farmer's market are good places to start. Come down every Friday for the pick of the goods.

Looking for something a bit more fast paced?

Jump on tram line 3 and get to the Navigli district in just 15 minutes. Zoom.

The area is dominated by wonderful restaurants, bars and markets. Try Pizza Napulegna. We hear it’s the best pizza in town.

Human rights fact
Residents took a strong stand against the fascists during World War II. For their bravery and morals, some were later decorated with a war medal for their fight against fascism.

We’re very proud of them. Let’s all take a moment to thank the Stadera people for standing up for what is right: equal rights and a life free from terror and oppression. You go Stadera!
