What can I do here?
Strengthen your mind and body: Go to class and explore the libraries. Use the gyms and swimming pools.
On Saturdays, take the metro to the city centre. Be a tourist; you deserve it.
Spend the day (and night) in Malasaña. You can also go to Bajos de Moncloa. It's a small party neighbourhood, and popular with all who stay up past bedtime.
On Sundays, grab your blanket and head to Parque del Oeste, a gorgeous green park. People of all ages gather here. Some to run, some to read, some to play guitar and sing.
Wander the park. You'll discover an Egyptian temple called Temple of Debod. It was built 2,200 years ago in honour of the god Amun-Ra. Once it lay on the banks of the Nile, now it rests in Madrid.

During the Spanish Civil War, Ciudad Universitaria was the last line of defence against Franco's army.
