Estrela doesn’t quite have the charm of Alfama, or the nightlife of Barrio Alto. It might not be the star attraction, but it’ll give you a little taste of everything.
Will I like living here?...
It’s central (but not too central), elegant, authentic, and rooted in tradition. It looks the part, with beautiful villas and palaces, interspersed with small local shops and charming facades.
The Jardim da Estrela is one of Lisbon’s most delightful parks. It's a popular spot for local families on warm summer afternoons.

There is a good mix of accommodation on offer, from affordable rooms for students to cute and cosy whole apartments. The Lapa quarter can get pricey, but in general you get good bang for your buck in Estrela!

Sr. Vinho (Rua do Meio, a Lapa, 18) in Estrela is a classic spot to enjoy a performance, and begin your fado education.

Getting to and from the airport...
You can take a taxi from Lisbon airport to Estrela. It will cost you €15 and takes approximately 20 minutes.
